Trusting God in The New Year
“You believe in God, believe also in me”.
John 14:1-12
If we are to believe in God we must believe in Jesus, and Jesus said
I and the Father are one. “If you had known me you would have
known My Father also and from now on you know Him and have
seen Him”; these are the words of Jesus to his disciples. To have a
relationship with God the Father we must first have a relationship
with Jesus. Jesus was among them, sent from the Father,
manifesting the grace and truth of God, and therefore he answered
their questions by pointing them to himself, as he was the divine
object lesson of God sent to them by divine conception. As this
new-year approach and you have questions why not go to Jesus?
The disciples had questions and Jesus answered those questions.
Philip asked the question, “show us the Father…” and Jesus reply
was: “He who has seen me has seen the Father…” and then Jesus
asked “Do you not believe that I am in the Father; and the Father
in Me? It takes faith that believes beyond sight to trust in God. We
more often than not want to have the tangible; something to feel
and touch to prove our senses, but that is not the way of faith.
Faith must be the operation of God. He alone authors the faith that
lives as we trust in him, not because of what we see and touch but
because of what we can not see; faith is after all the “substance of
things hoped for the evidence of things not seen”. If you believe in
God then believe in Jesus also for as you do your faith will know
the truth about Jesus that he was sent of the Father to be your
Savior. In Jesus Name. Pdlg.
